Fire Safety

Prevention & Planning Saves Lives.

In 2021/2022 fires in the UK killed 341 people.

Some Fire Facts

Difficult to control

Despite Fire Fighting being an Olympic sport at the 1900 games in Paris, it can take less than 30 seconds for a fire to become difficult to control.

Speedy growth

Fire grows and spreads rapidly.  A typical house fire can double in size every minute.  Generally with commercial properties this is reduced by correctly used Fire Doors and other precautions in the fabric of the building.

Hotter than you think

A typical candle flame burns at around 1000 degrees Centigrade, a little warmer than the end of a lit cigarette.

It's not necesarily the flames

In the event of a fire, typically more people die as a result of smoke inhalation than from the flames.

Careful what you mix

The wrong mix of chemicals can cause significant problems.  For example certain types of superglue can cause a fire when in contact with cotton.

Fire Risk Assessment

We can visit your premises to undertake a Fire Risk Assessment, following which a full, detailed report will be prepared and sent to you in both electronic and hard copy.  The report will detail the observations good and bad, building details, recommendations and of course the assessment of risk.

Once you have rectified any issues, the report can be revised and reissued.

All included in the one fee.

Note: fees vary slightly depending upon the size of the premises.

Evacuation Plan Preparation

We can prepare an Evacuation Plan tailored to your specific site and personnel which can be distributed and practised to ensure that everyone in the building knows what to do in the event of an emergency.

Fire Extinguishers

As part of the Fire Risk Assessment process, we can advise on type, signage, quantity and location of extinguishers.

Because we do not supply, install or maintain Fire Extinguishers or related equipment, our advice is unbiased.
